It's been a while since my last post.... but, I have some scrappy goodness to share with you!  I have been busy the last two months making mini-albums for baby shower gifts.  This first one was for my friend who is due to have a son in December.

The 8x8 chipboard cover has a layer of batting and covered with light blue "baby" print fabric.  I added blue and white tulle, ribbon, feathers, and a few small blue flowers.  The larger flowers were made by me from white felt.  I hot glued them then sprayed them with Glimmer Mist.  The album was bound using the Cinch, then I wove a length of white tulle through the wire and tied it at the top with an added "baby" charm.
This is the first interior spread, meant for newborn pics.  The others are for each month, up to baby's first birthday.  I didn't post all the pages because there were so many! (26 pages per album!)

The second album was for my sister-in-law, who is having a little girl in January.
This cover was also padded with a layer of batting, and covered with pink "baby" fabric.  I also added some lace ribbon on the outside of both front and back covers.  I only put it on 3 sides so it wouldn't interfere with the binding.  White tulle, ribbon, feathers, and hand-made felt flowers (sprayed with Glimmer Mist) complete the front of the album.

While they both turned out cute, the girl one is my favorite.  :)  After the pages were done, I didn't want to give it away!  But, I have more of the paper, so I can always make another one for me... and since I have 3 daughters I would definitely use it. :)

I hope everyone had a great Halloween!  We did! :)

My first scrappy video!!

Okay, so last Monday I got my Cinch.  I really wanted to open it and play with it right away, but I didn't have anything to bind!  So, I got to work on a 7x7 mini album for my son.  When my 3rd daughter was born, I made a mini album for her, and I used that one as the inspiration for the one for my son.  The pages are basically the same layout, but with different Basic Grey papers.  For the girly one, I used Urban Prairie, and for the boy themed one, I used Offbeat

I didn't even take my Cinch out of the box when I got it!  A friend of mine asked if I was going to make a video using it, so I thought about it, and decided I would, but I wanted to show people just how easy it is to use straight out of the box.  Before I decided to buy one, I watched a 5 minute video online showing how to use it.  It looked soooo easy to use I thought I would be able to use it right out of the box without any problems.  Well, it was just as easy to use as it looked!  The video is kinda long (15 mins) because a) it was my first time making one, and b) because I wanted to make sure I was doing everything in a way people watching could see clearly.  I had a hard time positioning the camera, so at the end of the video, when I'm doing the actual binding, my head is in the way almost the entire time! LOL  SORRY!

So, here's my video.  Please leave a comment and let me know how you liked it.  I had fun making it, so I hope to make more scrappy videos in the future.  (NOTE:  I had to turn up my computer volume and my speakers to full in order to hear myself.  I took the video with my regular camera, so the mic isn't that great :(  Next time I think I'll use the video camera.)  Another note: to hear the video, you will need to pause my blog music :)

And pics of the finished album:

Here's a few pics of the girly album I made that I used for inspiration.

I hope you liked the video.  Again, sorry for the sound and my head in the way at the end!  I will find a better place to set up the camera next time!

Hello, Goodbye

Yesterday, my little girl turned 3.  Where has the time gone?  As kids, it seems time doesn't go fast enough, but once you "grow up" and have kids of your own, things really do happen in the blink of an eye!
Three years ago, I had my 3rd daughter.  She was 9 lbs 2 oz, chubby cheeked and just adorable!

Before we knew it, she turned one! Bald as could be, but still adorable!

And when she turned two, it was hard to believe.  But she had grown so much in that year so having a two year old seemed "right."

But three?  THREE?  When did that happen?  Especially since I have a new little one, it's easy to look back and compare him to how River was as a baby, which makes it even harder to believe how old she is!  LOL

So yesterday, I said goodbye to my two year old toddler, and hello to my three year old preschooler.
Now if only she would get the potty training down...

Wyatt also reached a milestone this week; He turned 6 months old on the 2nd.  We weighs 19 lbs 6 oz and is 28.5" long.  Big boy!

I started him on rice cereal about two weeks ago, but he doesn't get it everyday.  Usually once every other day.  He seems to like it well enough.  At his checkup, the Dr. said he could go to solids 3 times a day.  So yesterday, he tried carrots for the first time.  I think he liked them better than the cereal though.

Next week, the older girls go back to school.  Sigh.  I am not looking forward to setting my alarm for 5:45am.  We spent most of the summer being lazy and sleeping in! LOL

And last, I have a few 8x8 layouts I did for a swap on Scrapbook Bingo.  The themes were chosen by the other people in the swap.

(the title of the last one is My Fave 5 @ Thirty-something.  Since I don't know exactly how old the recipient is in the pictures she will put on the page, I am also including numbers 0-9 for her to add to the title)

Overall, our summer has been nice.  It's been really nice to sleep in, but unfortunately that usually means I've stayed up way to late the night before.  It will be hard getting back into the swing of things, but it will be nice to be back on a schedule again.  Are you glad summer's over?

Happy 4th 5th of July!

Ok, so this isn't a post on the 4th of July, but it is a post on the 4th of July, only on the 5th.  Get it?  Good :)

Let me start by saying I love where I live.  I hate the house, but I love the neighborhood.  One reason is because we live literally across the street from the downtown area of the city and they do all sorts of cool stuff there during the year.  One of which is the 4th of July parade, which was on the 3rd LOL

The parade started at 9, and of couse because we live across the street, we were an hour and 19 minutes late. ;)  But at least we saw the last 45 minutes!

I really wanted to get some family 4th of July pics this year, so for most of that 45 minutes, we were busy posing for pictures instead of watching the parade.  But I got some pretty good pics, like these:

After the parade, we hung out at home for the rest of the day.  Kelcie spent the night at her friend's house that night, so we ran some errands and just hung out with the 3 kids.  Since the parade was on the 3rd, we didn't have anything planned for the 4th.  Kelcie was going to go with her friend to view the fireworks, and at the last minute, we decided to go too with the 3 kids.

And here's a few 4th of July pages from 2008...

Wyatt turned 5 months old on the 2nd!  He has rolled over back to front a couple of times now, and is grabbing his feet.  We also got out River's Exersaucer for him, and he really likes it!

Only a month left of summer vacation :(  I'm enjoying sleeping in, but Wyatt is still waking 1-3 times a night to nurse so I never feel like I've had enough sleep.  I'm hoping once I start him on cereal next month, his night feeds will get better.  But he's getting to be such a cute little chunk! :)

Hope everyone had a fun 4th!

New look!

So, I decided to play around a little with the look of my blog.  What do you think?  I like the little pirate guy, but I would love to have my own custom blog template someday.... but this will have to do for now :)

Last month, Scrapbook Bingo had a Virtual Crop and I completed over 70 pages and did a few cards, too!  So far in June, I've done quite a few pages for Wyatt's album (with a few pages of the girls too) and 20-or-so 6x6 pages for a gift album.  I was on quite a roll, I guess :)  This is all while having Wyatt with me when I go scrapbooking (most of my scrapbooking is done at crops away from home).  He does great.... only gets fussy when he's hungry or tired, and all the ladies seem to love him.  Oh, he loves the ladies too ;)  LOL  But one of these days, soon I think, he will have to stay home with daddy and his big sisters while I go scrap.  He's getting pretty active now, so he's not as happy sitting in one place for too long.

Speaking of Wyatt, he's getting so big!  He turned 4 months old earlier this month and weighed over 16 pounds at his checkup!  He's getting to be a little chunk! :)

He's already outgrowing some of his 3-6 month clothes :(  Luckily, my absolute FAVORITE outfit fits great!  In fact, the shirt is pretty long, and the waistband in the pants is adjustable, so he should be able to wear it for a while still!  That makes me happy :)

Check out his cute little "shoe" socks :)

The girls absolutely love him.  They are always asking to hold him.  Especially Marina and River.

Here's all 4 of them:

Aside from scrapbook pages, I also made a photo frame (shared in an earlier post) and an altered clipboard for Marina's teacher.  It was my first time doing an altered clipboard and I think it turned out really cute!

The clipboard also serves as a photo holder for the 2009-2010 class picture :)

Here's a few of the pages I did last month:

Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the new blog look!  Good? Bad?  I'd love to hear what you think :)
