Toot Toot for me!!

I checked Sketches! by Tamara http://sketchesbytamara.blogspot.com/ this morning, and GUESS WHAT?!? Two of my projects are featured on her blog!! I'm so super excited! I've never been featured anywhere before. (except my own blog LOL) :D

I have a card and a LO featured:

The card is under Captain Scrappy and the LO is under Jenn.
I am just so thrilled! What a great early birthday present! Thanks, Sketches!!!

Here's a card based on Creative Scrappers card sketch #14.
I don't like it that much.... it's too simple, I think. But I finished it in about 10 minutes last night, before I put the baby to bed. I was kinda in a hurry :)
The cupcake is stamped on white cardstock and colored with colored pencils with Stickles as sprinkles. I cut it out and mounted it with pop dots. The quote is from a birthday vellum phrase pack.

Happy, happy popsicle face

Well, I did complete a LO today! I was able to participate in the 1 hour sketch contest at Creative Scrappers. It was a great sketch! I think I will be using this one a few more times :)
This is also for a weekly challenge for Scrapbook Bingo to scrap an outing.
This is fast becoming one of my favorite LO's.

We took the kids to Glen Helen Water Park earlier this month, and they had a blast! Well, River, not so much... the water was quite cold! But the big girls went on the slides a few times, and before we left, we got some ice cream at the snack bar. This is River's first Push Pop, and as you can see, she really enjoyed it :) :)

PP: DCWV

CS: DCWV

Ink: studio g and Color Box Cat's Eye (dark brown)

title and popsicles cut on Cricut using Alphalicious and Doodlecharms

Another sleepless night :(

Ugh! Last night was even worse than the night before! The baby's cough was waking her up throughout the night, so I only got about 2 hours of decent sleep. The rest of the night she woke up at least 1-2 times per hour! So I have really been lagging today... and it was the girl's first day of school! I did manage to get another hour or so of sleep when the baby took her morning nap, and I'm hoping for another hour while she takes her afternoon nap.

At least I did manage to finish a LO last night. This is from Creative Scrappers sketch #14. This LO is also for a Scrapbook Bingo weekly challenge to use 2 punches.
Patterned paper: DCWV
CS: DCWV
Title: cut w/ George on Cricut
ribbon: unknown, various mfg.
bling: Stickles (star dust)
Marker: American Crafts photo marker (black)
Ink: studio g
punches: 2" circle punch, Threading Water
Misc: staples

Sick!

Last night was no fun :( DH has been sick since Thursday, the 2 older kids got sick on Friday, and the baby got sick yesterday... so last night she was up off and on all night. Poor thing! Of coarse now I'm getting it. I woke up with a sore throat and now I can feel a sinus headache coming on. I'm hoping I'll still feel good enough to get something scrappy done today... but so far I've only managed to look through 2 new paper Stacks I got at Joann's this past week. I must say, I've always liked DCVW paper stacks, but they just keep getting better and better! Since they started doing the "premium" stacks (glittered, flocked, and foiled papers) the paper designs have gotten so much cuter!
I got the Fall Glitter Stack last weekend, and I went back again this past week and picked up the Fall Stack and the Stack 6. So cute!! I don't really care for the photo stacks, though.
Anyway, I'm off to dig around the medicine cabinet to see if there's any cold medicine left..... I should take some before I start feeling too terrible and maybe I'll accomplish something!

just for you card

This card is based on card sketch #58 on Sketches! by Tamara. Instead of a tall, narrow, vertical card, I used a standard A2 size and flipped it horizontally. I used only scraps for this card, which is good because I have a TON of scraps that I hardly ever use!

pink/black floral paper: DCWV
glittered dot paper: DCWV
black w/white polka dots paper: unknown
Ink: Craft Essentials (dye-based, black) and Staz-On (jet black)
flowers: Prima (sprites 2 collection)
bling: Stickles (silver--accents on flowers)
ribbon: unknown (white)

sweet summer treat

This is another based on a Creative Scrappers sketch (#13). I like this sketch.... it's very simple and was easy to do. I have been wanting to scrap this picture of my DD for a long time now, and I thought this sketch was perfect for it. I have kinda been "collecting" watermelon stuff--just for this pic! :)
I also did something I've not done on a LO before: I used an eye pin with beads and a charm (top right corner). I think it looks cute. I wish I had different beads though, but I put my beading/jewelry stuff in storage and I didn't want to buy red and green just for one page!
This is also for Scrapbook Bingo weekly challenge to scrap something hot (it was a hot day).
All patterned paper and CS is DCWV
title and seeds cut with Cricut using Alphalicious and Doodlecharms
3D watermelon: Jolee's Quillettes
Ink: studio g and Color Box Cat's Eye (olive pastel)
Marker: Zig (pure black)
bling: Stickles (black diamond)
Misc: ribbon, rhinestones, clip, charm, beads, eye pin

*heart* your Sweet Smile

I finished it! It's not quite as good as I'd hoped, but I think it turned out cute :) This is based on sketch #58 on Sketches! by Tamara (link on the left).

Patterned paper, cardstock and stickers (letters, arrow, and flowers): CTMH

Leaves: CTMH Cottage Floral

Ink: Color Box Cat's Eye (olive pastel)

Marker: Zig writer (evergreen)

Bling: Stickles (orange peel)

Hoping to finish a LO at some point today....

Well, I started a LO last night using a sketch from Sketches! by Tamara #58 (link on the left). I've done the background and photo placement.... but I still need to add some embellishments and the title. I like the patterned paper I chose... they match the photos almost exactly IMO... but so far the stickers I've put on are lacking a little "something." Hopefully I'll be able to figure out what this LO needs and post a pic later tonight :)
It's frustrating because I've got a sketch... and I've STILL got scrapper's block! LOL

Hooray for Captain Scrappy!

I've received my first visitor and comment! Yeah! Thanks Christina S...... and for being my #1 I'm gonna send you a little somethin' somethin' :)

Another sketch contest from Creative Scrappers. This was for their Guest Designer for September. Sadly, I wasn't chosen. Maybe next time, right?
Patterned paper: CTMH
Cardstock: CTMH
Stickers (butterflies and quote): CTMH
Flowers: Prima
Bling: Stickles added to butterflies and flowers
Ink: Color Box Cat's Eye (dark brown)
(I'm on a CTMH phase right now, can't ya tell? LOL)
I absolutely love this paper! The funny thing is I didn't like how the LO was looking at first. But once everything started coming together it started working for me :)

Another LO for Creative Scrappers (link on the left). This was for the No Title Contest using a sketch. I enjoyed doing this page :) I made the background paper and I think it turned out great! It looks exactly how I wanted it to--like elephant skin to match the pics.

Background paper : recycled chipboard packaging painted with acrylic paint (medium grey), then a layer of crackle medium and topcoat is more acrylic paint (light grey)

Ink: Color Box Cat's Eye (charcoal)

Flocked green floral paper: DMD "Paper Bouquet"

Green cardstock: CTMH

Chipboard heart and arrows: CTMH

Patterned paper--blue w/dots: unknown

Stickles "Star Dust" was used for the circle around the elephant in the small picture

This is my take on a sketch from Creative Scrappers (link on the left). It's sketch #12. I enjoyed using this sketch. I don't tend to use cardstock as my background very often, but I do like the way this turned out. And I have realized I've been using it as a background more and more lately.

I also used this LO for a challenge on one of my Yahoo groups. The challenge was to complete a page in an hour and I already had this sketch to use and I had picked out the paper, photo, and embellishments the night before, so it was fairly easy to complete.

Black and yellow cardstock: unknown

Patterned paper: CTMH

Chipboard flourishes, hearts, bird: CTMH

Black bird wings: Prima Whispers

Flowers and button: unknown

I colored the chipboard shapes with Zig markers and added a little bit of Stickles to the hearts. Journaling is white Gelly roll pen.

Captain Scrappy's first time blogging.....

Well, I've done it. I've created a blog. I swore I never would because 1) I'll never update it often enough, and 2) who wants to read my blog, anyway? I've decided to create a blog because I'm starting to complete challenges from other blogs/groups, and I thought this would be the easiest way to link to them.

I hope you stop by from time to time to see what new LO's I've posted.... and feel free to leave a comment if you'd like. I'd love to know people actually read this thing! LOL
