Cuttlebug embossing with Glimmer Mist!

Well, it's my turn to show a technique for Fab Friday on the Cuttlebug Challenge blog. I'll be showing you 3 different ways to use Glimmer Mist with Cuttlebug embossing.

Supply list:
Glimmer Mist
Cuttlebug embossing folder (I used D'vine Swirl)
Plates A, B, B
Cuttlebug
4 pieces of cardstock (approx. 5"x4")

For the first sample, I first ran a piece of cardstock thru the Cuttlebug using D'vine swirl. After embossing it, I sprayed Huckleberry Glimmer Mist on it:

For the second sample, I sprayed the Glimmer Mist on the cardstock before embossing it.

The first two ways produced very similar results.
For the third sample, I sprayed the embossing folder with Glimmer Mist first, then embossed my paper. (Don't worry, it washes right off!)

I sprayed the embossing folder liberally with Glimmer Mist and this was my result:
The cardstock was pretty saturated, but had a really neat effect. Some parts were darker than others, and the embossing is lighter. If you heat set this, the embossing should stay lighter. I let mine air dry over night, so the Glimmer Mist was more absorbed into the embossing.

For the last sample, I used the same technique (spraying the embossing folder directly), but this time, I sprayed just a little. My result:

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #21

Happy Wednesday! Today brings you another challenge from the Cuttlebug Challenge blog! This week's challenge is to create something with watercolors! I came up with this card:

Materials used:

black and white cardstock scraps from stash

StazOn ink (jet black)

white pigment ink

Prima flowers

Cuttlebug embossing using Skeleton Scroll

Twinkling H2O's

This was a quick and easy card to make! First, I embossed the front of the card with Skeleton Scroll embossing folder, then lightly inked the embossing with white pigment ink. In the bottom corner of the card, I created a cluster of Prima flowers.

I stamped 2 skulls and 2 crowns using Queen Kat stamps with StazOn ink onto white cardstock scraps. Then, I colored the images using Twinkling H2O's in Ruby Red, Jasmine, Icicles, and Mystic Blue. After the images were dry, I cut them out and added them to the flower cluster using foam squares for dimension. I printed a saying from the computer, tore the edges, and used Twinkling H2O's "Jasmine" on the edges. Added a few more flowers by the sentiment, and that's it! Easy peasy! :)

I really LOVE the way this turned out. I had a hard time getting a good picture though :(

I just love skulls and these little guys (or girls?) with the cute heart-shaped eyes are just so STINKIN' CUTE! LOL

ink: CTMH (blush)

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #19

If you haven't yet, you should check out Cuttlebug Challenge. This week's challenge is to emboss on acetate. My card is a Thank you card for a friend who is totally awesome! Don't want to say who and spoil the surprise! :)

I embossed with the Cuttlebug using the Textile folder, then I used black Staz-On on the back to highlight the embossing. I used a heat gun to curl the plastic just a bit to give it some character :) On the back side, I added fuschia Stickles to some of the embossed parts. I used brads that I heat embossed with pink embossing powder and covered in glitter to attach the acetate to the card front. I took a scrap of white cardstock and sprayed some Glimmer Mist on it, and inked the edges with CTMH "Sweet Leaf" ink. I stamped the sentiment with black Staz-On. I layered Prima felt (lightly sprayed with Glimmer Mist), Mardi Gras-style beads, Prima flowers, and the sentiment to the front of the card.

I inked, used Stickles, added Prima flowers and Skittles, and created dimension with pop-dots.

I got something accomplished this weekend!

Finally! I did more than 2 pages at a crop! LOL Last night, was scrapping at Chino Scrapbook Co. with some friends and I actually did 10 pages! Well, mostly. I was doing pages with no photos or journaling (because I'm so behind in printing my photos, I don't have very many recent pics to scrap with). But now I have 10 pages ready so as soon as I print some photos, the pages will be finished in just a minute or two. I even put embellishments on most of them, so literally just a couple photos, title, and journaling, and I'll be done. I'm still proud of myself :)

Usually I do so much socializing (and snacking) at crops that I only get 2-4 pages done.

Anyway, I'll post some pics of those after they are completely finished. But in the meantime, I do have a photo of some deco squares I made for a swap on Scrapbook Bingo.

(If you are in the Dragon group of the Fantasy swap, you might not want to spoil the surprise)

I was tagged and I didn't even know it! LOL

HeeHee.... Thanks to Amanda, I was tagged and now I have to show you the 6th picture in the 6th folder of my photos. My 6th folder is of various pictures I burned on a CD for my hubby's aunt who lives in Las Vegas. The photo is from my 3D ultrasound of baby River.

She is now 18 months old! And, she is just the cutest little thing, if I do say so myself! LOL

Cuttlebug Be Inspired #17

Well, it's February already... I can't believe how fast January flew by! Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter! I am now the mother of a 12 year old; AAAAAAHHHHHH! LOL

Anyway, it's Wednesday, so that means another Cuttlebug challenge, too :)

This week's challenge is to create a "love" themed card or project. I made an explosion box.

Each layer is double sided. The outside of the box is the bottom of the 3rd layer, so there's no photo mats, but I did put photo mats on the back of the other 2 layers.

I used papers and punch outs from the Prima Romantica collection. The felt frame is Prima and so are the green and the white flowers. I also used other misc. things like rub-ons, brads, and large red flowers.

Embossing done on the Cuttlebug with D'vine Swirl, Script, and Heart Blocks. I inked and sanded the embossing.

This was my first time making an explosion box, and I think it turned out well :)
